Design and Build Quality: This monitor is completely different from the existing Dell P2418HZM, which is also a popular webcam monitor for a long time. Dell made a massive design overhaul in the S2422HZ over the P2418HZM. While the old one contains fat bezels, the new S2422HZ comes with slim bezels due to the pop-up webcam design instead of placing the webcam on the top bezel. Just press the button to pull out the webcam when needed and put it back when not using it. This innovative pop-up webcam design reduces the security concern.

The monitor provides a lot of connectivity options- including HDMI, DP, and USB-C for display connectivity with a USB 3.0 HUB. The 1440P resolution is the sweet spot for a 27" inch screen size, where the 1080P resolution is a bit pixelated due to the low pixel density. Design and Build Quality: HP E27d G4 is an exact carbon copy of its sibling E24d G4, except for the screen size. The 16:9 monitor has slim bezels and a stylish look compared to the EliteDisplay E273m.

This is an advanced docking monitor with a USB-C port, which is capable to charge up to 100W – enough power delivery to charge a high-end MacBook, where the E273m can deliver only 15W via USB-C port. The stand ergonomics is just brilliant, delivers flexible height, tilt, pivot, and swivel adjustment.

The monitor supports daisy-chaining to allow multiple PC inputs. Moreover, it has a virtual KVM switch option. However, more than 200 nits of brightness in regular SDR content seems overkill for an office environment. The E27d G4 features a 1000:1 contrast ratio similar to other IPS grade monitors. Viewing angle performance is also excellent and the color distortion is very minimal even from the extreme viewing angle.

E27d G4 is a 60hz panel with 5ms best response time but misses adaptive sync implementation. There is no problem with casual gaming but the average response time is a bit high for serious gamers and there is no shuttering prevention technology.

The Brilliance 329P9H is a high-end 4K monitor with an integrated webcam, speakers, and microphone. This monitor is slightly expensive compared to other 4K monitors but provides an all-in-one solution and saves some bucks for a separate webcam, speakers, and microphone.

Design and Build Quality: The Brilliance 329P9H is a large 32" inch monitor (31.5" viewable) with a borderless slim bezel design. The stand is fully functional in terms of adjustability, delivers height, tilt, swivel, and 90^o rotate support. Besides, the monitor is 100mm VESA mount compatible.

Alongside the pop-up webcam, the monitor also features advanced connectivity options such as an RJ45 ethernet port and USB Type-C with 60W power delivery to charge a MacBook. Philips implements the traditional multiple buttons layout instead of directional toggle for OSD navigation, which is a great disappointment, especially for a premium monitor. The OSD is simple enough but adjusting settings with multiple buttons is surely not the smartest way.

Image Quality and Performance: The Brilliance 329P9H offers a screen real estate with its 3840 x 2160 pixel aka 4K UHD resolution. The 8bit+FRC panel delivers up to 1.07b colors that generate smooth gradients and vivid colors. Due to the IPS panel, the monitor has 178^o wide viewing angles.

Unfortunately, the Brilliance 329P9H doesn't support a wide color gamut, so sRGB is the only option to deal with. The monitor covers a full sRGB spectrum and Philips ensures a great DeltaE <2 factory calibration. Having a perfectly tuned and clamped sRGB monitor is a blessing for the sRGB based applications.

While most of the IPS monitors are stuck at a 1000:1 or even lower contrast ratio, Philips Brilliance 329PH9 rocks a much higher 1300:1 contrast ratio. The peak brightness is around 350 nits – enough for SDR content, but there is no HDR mode, at least a basic DisplayHDR 400 certification would be great for the price.

Again, Brilliance 329P9H disappoints gamers for Adaptive-sync, Philips specified a 5ms G2G response time but performs worse in real gaming. Decent gaming performance is expected from a premium grade monitor, but the 60hz refresh rate and lack of adaptive sync failed to deliver the desired gaming performance.

Finally, the integrated 2.0-megapixel webcam captures full HD images, and image quality is pretty good. The webcam is Windows Hello compatible. The Brilliance 329P9H is an all-rounder monitor, though it may miss some features like HDR and adaptive sync, but delivers crystal clear imagery.

Philips Brilliance 499P9H: Ultrawide Webcam Monitor

We are about to end the search for the best built-in webcam monitor with Philips Brilliance 499P9H. This one is really big – a large 49" inch (48.8" viewable) display at 32:9 aspect ratio, which is double of the regular 16:9 ratio in the horizontal axis. The screen is equal to two 27" inch monitors running side by side. With a robust productivity performance, this monitor is expensive similar to other 49″ inches super ultrawide monitors.

Design and Build Quality: The Philips Brilliance 499P9H is an extremely large monitor with a 1800R curve design, the curvature deep is about 1.8 meters. A rectangular base stand holds the bulky 11kg monitor (15kg including stand). The stand has height, tilt, swivel adjustments, the 100mm VESA mount allows this monitor wall mount or use with an external stand.

The bottom bezel is a bit bold compared to the top three sides, Along with the notification led on the right, there is a Philips logo at the center of the bottom bezel. Behind the top bezel, the pop-up webcam is located.

For connectivity, the Brilliance 499P9H is equipped with 1 x DP 1.4, 2 x HDMI 2.0, and 1 x USB Type-C with 65W power delivery. The monitor has a built-in KVM switch that allows multiple PC inputs at the same time.

Additional connectivity includes an RJ45 ethernet port and 4 x USB 3.0 port, one of them for upstream and the rest are downstream. While most of the monitor's speakers are 2-3W, Philips included a bit powerful 2 x 5W speakers that deliver a fair sound level. There is a 3.5mm audio I/O port to connect with external speakers and microphones.

Like the elephant in the room, Brilliance 499P9H also has a button layout for OSD navigation, not the smartest way to change OSD settings. A directional joystick would make sense instead of the traditional multiple button layout.

Image Quality and Performance: The Brilliance 499P9H offers a massive dual QHD 5120 x 1440 pixel resolution. Based on a VA panel, this monitor's 10bit (8bit+FRC) processing delivers 1.07b colors and 109 PPI pixel density that produces very sharp detailed imagery.

Out of the box, the Brilliance 499P9H is ready to use for professional color-sensitive applications as this monitor is factory calibrated with DeltaE <2.0. The monitor supports a wide color gamut and Philips states about 94% DCI-P3 and 91% Adobe RGB along with 121% sRGB coverage, the test results are a little less but close enough to the official specification.

The contrast ratios are always strong in the VA panels, and Brilliance 499P9H is no exception- exceeds over 3200:1 contrast ratio against the official 3000:1 figures. The peak brightness is 450nits in HDR mode and 350nits in standard SDR content.

HDR support becomes a key selling point for gamers, and Philips also decides to include VESA DisplayHDR 400 certifications. Though, this basic DisplayHDR 400 doesn't make any remarkable difference in gaming except for slight improvements in the dark scene.

For a fluid gaming experience, this Adaptive-Sync monitor is compatible with both- AMD and Nvidia GPU. The Brilliance 499P9H is a productivity monitor rather than gaming, the 5ms G2G response time at 60Hz refresh rate delivers a modest gaming performance.

The integrated 2.0-megapixel webcam captures FHD quality images but delivers noisy images in a dark environment. Moreover, the webcam is compatible with Windows Hello facial login authentication.

Finally, the Philips Brilliance is an ultimate productivity monitor which has a built-in webcam, speakers, and microphone. Of course, there are some minor drawbacks but the overall performance is great for the balanced features set.

We reviewed a lot of webcam monitors in this article, now it is time to figure out which one suits you best. Most of the monitor provides an all-in-one solution and packed with webcam, microphone, and speakers except for the HP EliteDisplay G4 series (without speakers).

If you're looking for a dirt-cheap monitor with an integrated webcam, the 21.5" inch Lenovo ThinkVision T22V has no other competitor. For a larger 24" inch, we recommend the EliteDisplay E24 G4 – a modern docking FHD monitor with lots of connectivity features at a reasonable price.

The 27" inch EliteDisplay E27 G4 offers a higher 1440P resolution compared to the EliteDisplay E273m which is an FHD monitor. Both of these monitors are fine, if you're very tight on the budget, go for the EliteDisplay E273m, else the 1440P EliteDisplay E27 G4 is the perfect 27" monitor which has a webcam.

Surprisingly, the listed two high-end monitors are from the same manufacturer -Philips, and both are aimed at the premium market segment. The 32" inch Philips Brilliance 329P9H is an all-rounder 4K monitor while the 49" inch Brilliance 499P9H is a productivity beast.
