You may think it's best to wait until late November for this year's Black Friday iPad deals but we're already seeing plenty of price cuts landing in both the US and UK. Even more pressing, we've actually seen several models already sell out at Amazon in particular, which means it could be go-time if you're looking to snag yourself one of these lavish Apple tablets.

In short, while we expect some Black Friday deals to launch on the big day itself (that's November 26th, by the way) things are already starting to heat up. We've included a handy guide to buying early just down below alongside our predictions, advice, and also today's best early Black Friday iPad deals, in case you're interested.

While some biggest price cuts may still be reserved for the day itself, worries over supply chains and increasing competition have meant that retailers are much more eager over recent years to offer up those Black Friday iPad deals early.

Don't fret about checking store pages every single day in the lead-up to Black Friday, though. That's exactly why we're here. We update this page daily across a range of territories to find the very best discounts as soon as they go live. Regardless of whether you're looking for a standard iPad, an Air, a Mini, or a Pro, you'll find the latest prices right here on this page.

That includes both the brand new iPad 10.2 and iPad Mini 6 as well, which are definitely on the table as they've already seen small reductions following release. As you'd expect, these models won't get quite as good crop of promotions as the older ones in this year's Black Friday iPad deals, but there could still be a small price cut here and there.

As things are developing quite quickly now, we highly recommend bookmarking this page and checking in regularly if you don't want to miss out on any of the Black Friday iPad deals this year. We'll be updating it with all the latest information, prices, and helpful advice from now until the big day itself.

Today's best iPad deals

Now we're in November thing's are really starting to heat up with this year's Black Friday iPad deals. In the US, Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart have all started excellent Black Friday pre-sales already and many more retailers are no doubt set to follow. Retailers in the UK are holding their cards closer to their chests so far, but we're inbound price cuts any day no doubt.

Should you buy an iPad before Black friday?

Tough call, but we say yes if you spot a price cut to your liking. Popular items like iPads are always in danger of selling out over Black Friday and doubly so this year. For context, the new 2021 iPad Pro sold out in hours when Amazon recently discounted it by $100 in early November - a price that was at the time the lowest yet from the retailer.

The standard 2021 iPad 10.2 is also on backorder right now at Apple US until an eye-watering December 6th at the earliest - a date after Black Friday and Cyber Monday this year. In short, it's a good idea to get that order in sooner rather than later if you're interested in getting your device this side of 2022.

Here's a quick and dirty price guide for the current iPad range, as well as the record low prices so far and what we judge to be their 'popularity' based on how often we've seen these devices sell out at leading retailers. It's a pretty unscientific measure but we're using it as an indicator for determining how likely a model is to sell out either on or before Black Friday.

One quick caveat. In general, UK retailers tend to be a little better stocked when it comes to iPad deals right now, so your mileage could vary a bit in this region. UK retailers have also been a little slower off the mark in regards to offering up early Black Friday sales, so it could be the best prices are still yet to come.

When will the best Black Friday iPad deals begin in 2021?

November 26th is the official kick-off date for this year's Black Friday iPad deals but we've already seen a ton of great price cuts. Best Buy, Walmart, and Amazon have all already started their 'Holiday deals' season and that's included some small discounts on iPads.

The new iPad Pro in particular was at its lowest price yet at Amazon US recently, and the iPad Air 4 has also received a healthy discount. The burning question here is - are the current crop of early Black Friday deals going to be the best prices this year, or will they get better? In our eyes, it depends on stock levels. We've seen several models sell out at some retailers already so it could be they're actually all gone by Black Friday.

Which retailers will have the best Black Friday iPad deals?

Top US retailers
Amazon
: regularly features the best deals across multiple iPad models
B&H Photo: an alternative to the big names with regular deals
Best Buy: often price matches other retailers on top tech
Walmart: best-ever prices so far on the latest 2021 iPads

Top UK retailers
Amazon:
usually has the biggest discounts over Black Friday on tech
Argos
: good offers with next day delivery on click and collect options
Currys
: price matches common deals with in-store pickup available
John Lewis: often includes extended warranties on electrical items

Once you know which model you're after, it's time to head to the right retailer come the big day. Walmart, Amazon and Best Buy are well known for their Black Friday iPad deals. Walmart and Amazon, in particular, offered up some stunning bargains last year. If you're shopping for the entry-level 10.2-inch release, you'll want to head here first.

Currys, Amazon and John Lewis often compete for the best iPad deals over Black Friday if you're shopping in the UK. We'd head there as your first port of call, but make sure you don't sleep on Argos, Very, or lesser-known tech retailers such as Box or Laptops Direct either.

Black Friday iPad deals: top tips

When it comes to finding the best Black Friday iPad deal, we've got a few top tips to follow to ensure you get the right product for the right price. Read through these in the run-up to the sales so you're ready to go as soon as that first offer arrives.

1. Research, research, research
Black Friday iPad deals are always popular - every year, in fact. With hot ticket items over the Holiday sales period it always pays to know exactly what you want and what you're looking for before you go in. That means researching which model's best for your needs (check out our handy guide just below), knowing generally how much it sells for at leading retailers, and also knowing what your alternative options are. By doing a little bit of research you'll be able to spot the good Black Friday iPad deals from the bad, as well as save precious time on the day.

2. Consider buying early
This year we're seeing a ton of empty shelves at leading retailers. It's not just iPads either, according to a report by Adobe the number of out-of-stock items is up a whopping 172% versus pre-pandemic levels - a statistic that doesn't bode well for the shopping season this November. If you spot a discount on a model you want, we'd advocate potentially buying early, even if it's not the lowest price we've ever seen on that model.

3. Be prepared for alternatives
Following on from our previous advice, we'd recommend considering alternatives if you do find your iPad of choice sold out over Black Friday. For example, that iPad 10.2 might be out of stock but perhaps you can make that budget stretch to a mid-range iPad Air 4. Even better still are the number of Black Friday tablet deals that we could see on other brands like Samsung, Amazon, and Lenovo. Sure, they aren't Apple but they'll definitely be a lot more available this year.

Which iPad is best for me?

  • Apple iPad 10.2: a great all-rounder for those on a budget
  • Apple iPad Air: a mid-range, super-slim premium tablet
  • Apple iPad Pro: incredibly powerful with lush screens, but pricey
  • Apple iPad mini: small 8-inch screen, more powerful than the 10.2

The latest 2021 Apple iPad 10.2 is a great place to start if you're looking to get that iOS tablet experience without breaking the bank. It doesn't have the brightest screen, the slimmest build, or the most powerful processor, but it's exceptional value and more than enough for most people.

For something a bit more premium, consider the new Apple iPad Air and iPad mini. Both these tablets feature very powerful chips, a lovely squared-off design (very similar to the iPhone 13), and better screens than the standard 10.2 iPad. In short, they're your mid-range picks - for those who want something a bit special but don't quite want to fork out the huge amounts for the iPad Pro range.

Speaking of which, if you'll only settle for the best of the best, the latest 2021 iPad Pro 11 and 12.9-inch tablets offer pretty much the most powerful tablets on the market. They not only look fantastic with their XDR retina displays (amazing for design work and media), but the M1 chip inside affords them near-MacBook levels of power.

Which iPad will have the best deals over Black Friday 2021?

While we don't yet know exactly what discounts are in store for us on the 2021 range of tablets, we can make a few educated guesses on what the best Black Friday iPad deals will be based on last year's activity and what's already happened over the last 12 months.

All in all, we're recommending you keep your eyes on the iPad Air 4 and the iPad Pro this year. The former is looking likely to drop to a price that might only be $100 / £100 more than a 10.2-inch 2021 device, while the latter (if following the same pattern as 2020) looks set to get some of the best discounts yet.

If you're drawn towards the newer devices, the good news and that we're fully expecting discounts on both the latest iPad 10.2 and iPad Mini versions. Both of these devices were given small price cuts in the pre-order phase, so retailers should at least repeat these for Black Friday.

More specifically, then, look for at least $30 off the iPad 10.2 as this was the reduction at Walmart before the device launched. For the iPad Mini, the key price to keep in mind is $459. It was given this $39 discount at Amazon prior to launch. There was nothing similar available in the UK but there should still be an offer or two to be found come November.
